PlainMile

How it works

How PlainMile compares assignment terms with a paystub.

PlainMile uses fixed, reviewable comparison rules. You can see and correct the values before they are compared.

1. Read the assignment terms

PlainMile looks for values such as regular hourly rate, overtime rate, holiday and callback rates, guaranteed weekly hours, housing stipend, meals and incidentals, and travel reimbursement.

2. Read the paystub

PlainMile looks for the corresponding hours, rates, earnings, stipends, reimbursements, and gross pay. Scanned documents may use local OCR.

3. Review the detected values

You can correct every detected value before comparison. Blank or uncertain fields stay visible so you can review them instead of relying on a hidden assumption.

4. Compare only what maps cleanly

Hourly rates can be compared directly. Weekly assignment amounts can be converted automatically when the payroll schedule maps cleanly to whole weeks, such as weekly or biweekly pay.

Semimonthly, monthly, and uncertain schedules can still support hourly-rate comparison, while weekly stipends and guaranteed-hours totals are marked for review rather than approximated.

5. Read the result as a reconciliation

PlainMile uses four result states: Match, Potential difference, Needs review, and Not compared.

A highlighted difference is not a legal or payroll determination. Payroll timing, proration, missed shifts, cancellation rules, and reimbursements paid separately can affect the correct interpretation.
